For my 2013 holiday fundraising, I made:

Here are the vital stats of the Hand Thingies, or, as I prefer to call them, Fingerless Mitts:

  • I made 29 pairs
  • Each pair took 1/2 skein of Malabrigo Worsted yarn
  • One skein of Malabrigo costs about $10, so a pair cost $5 in yarn.
  • I sold the mitts for $30, raising $25  with each one sold for my fundraising.

I also made dozens of these cute felted bowls, using wool from my stash of left-over partial skeins. I sold them for $4 each, or 3 for $10. Since the yarn was left-over from other projects, I didn’t buy any new yarn and happily donated all of my sales from the bowls to my fundraiser.

Here’s what my table looked like at the holiday sale at my Church’s coffee hour. On the left are the bowls and the mitts. On the right are a few items that were left from last year, marked down to very attractive prices!
